Self-Interested Preface: Ignazio!! Okay this character's the first or second of a series I made
called the Beast-Patroned, characters with animal companions which are
more important than that characters themselves. Ignazio is from an episode of a YouTube Let's Play series called Gaming Garbage that Rich Lowtax Kyanka and Shmorky used to do called Secret Of The Magic Crystal. Ignazio is a horse, so Ignazio is an asshole. Some inspiration also taken from Is Your Girlfriend A Horse, mostly the gems stuff. At the bottom there are tenets for the active worship of Ignazio which must be followed by the character.
The
character is called the Steward Of Ignazio, either creating or
continuing a theme (I can't remember if Ignazio or Charles was first) of
explicit character roles which define the character in relation to the
animal. The Steward Of Ignazio is a dumb stubborn jackass, like what a horse would
be, whose only skills are handling Ignazio, riding Ignazio, and looking for things that might hurt Ignazio (wolves, bugs, bandits). He is headstrong and fussy and very capable in combat. All feats have to do with riding Ignazio, attacking from Ignazio, or protecting Ignazio. At level 5, Ignazio turns into a griffin, and at level 7, Ignazio can be flown and gets pounce. Depending on your playstyle (if you were to play The Steward Of Ignazio) you might not want to take the Bodyguard Archetype, as Ignazio could be boosted greatly using Share Spells and Warpriest magic (Righteous Might and Divine Favor are spells I'm thinking of), but as a focused lancer it's probably of more use to keep the Diehard facsimile.
This
build was really fun to make, even though the statblocks for animal
companions are kind of a pain in the ass. I'd be way into playing this
character alongside some pals playing some of the other Beast-Patroned.
